The following maintenance instructions are indispensable to keep the XTRAICE® rink in optimum skating conditions, and to keep the manufacturer's guarantee valid.
1. CLEANING:
In order to keep the XTRAICE® surface clean upon its installation, we recommend not to walk on the panels, especially after having applied the XTRAICE® SLIDER LIQUID.
- Vacuum Cleaning: Once the rink is being used frequently, vacuum or soft broom the surface daily. If the rink is intensively used, it may be necessary to vacuum the surface twice a day. The purpose is to remove the small particles and dust produced by the skates as they glide over the surface. It is mainly during the first days of use that plastic particles will be produced.
- Overall Cleaning: About every 7 days the rink should be cleaned with a resurfacer with rotating plastic brush (to avoid the surface to be damaged). Cleaning should be done with a neutral-ph liquid detergent.
2. APPLICATION OF XTRAICE® SLIDER LIQUIED:
2.1 How?
Apply a very fine layer of liquid with an atomizer (mist) and wait 60 minutes before using the rink.
2.2 When?
The slider liquid is to be applied:
- After assembling the rink and having it vacuumed
- About once every 7 days (after an overall cleaning)
- During the first 30 days of use, we recommend to apply the solution twice every 7 days to completely cover
the surface for a perfect gliding.
2.3 How much?
A normal application would be 1 liter per 1000 sq. ft. of XTRAICE® surface.
3. SKATES SHARPENING:
- The sharpening of skates is essential to obtain an optimum gliding.
- Use a semi-automatic sharpener which is easy to handle and quick to use.
- The sharpening should be done effected on new blade skates and continuously according to the use of the
the skates.
